So, many years ago, I left university early as I'd had it up to the back teeth of studying, but I had the usual family members screaming at me that education is everything, you will get no where in life with out a degree!
Well for some that maybe true, but I didn't know what I wanted to do when I left college, so rather than do nothing, off to Uni I went and promptly hated it! Luckily I had an understanding Mum who said "Victoria, its ok, come home but look my girl, I cant afford to keep you, so you better get a job". What was I to do?
I wasn't going to sit on my laurels, so I scrolled the job sections of the newspaper (yes I am that old) I applied for this and that, but then, I saw one advert that stood out from the crowd, I immediately applied, excited to send my CV, that enthusiastic I took a bus ride and went and handed it to the manageress myself, the next day I had a call, she wanted me for an interview! Eeek, I went that afternoon, boy was I nervous!
Well, you guessed it, I got the job, no experience in the industry, but I told her I was keen to learn and she wouldn't regret it.
After just 4 weeks I went from part time to full time and I accepted every training opportunity I was given.
8 years later, I left trained in photography, cosmetics, vitamins, healthcare, skin care, hair care and much more. The most important skill I learnt was customer service! This one part of my training from an excellent mentor and company paved the way for my future career into management and now the owner of my own business! All this because I trusted one brand, one logo.. and the name
