Its true, so I take you back to the 1980s, technology was very different back then and we hadn't even heard of Google (can you even imagine life without it now?)
Anyway, on attempting to return from time away in Puerto Rico having not seen his girl in 3 weeks, a man arrived at the airport, suitcases full of worn holiday clothes and no doubt the normal souvenirs and tat we all bring back for those that really wish you hadn't bothered, but accept graciously all the same! Whilst sat on the plane awaiting take off, the air steward announced that the flight was cancelled! Whilst most passengers contemplated booking alternative accommodation, phoning home or panicking, one man did things differently.
Instead of ringing, hotels, taxi's or loved ones, he rang another airline and asked how much it would be to charter a plane from Puerto Rico to the British Virgin Islands, he got the figure and then began to sell tickets to the passengers and he negotiated and arranged for an alternative airline to take them home!
Seeing how this worked and taking a genuine interest in how he was able to do this, when he got home, he looked into buying a plane, a second hand Boeing 747. From this his journey began and his airline was born. The rest as they say, is history!
